When I left the hospital, she was starting to move just a bit. Mom is improving and doing well.
Just want to keep us prepared because there are tough days ahead. One of the common issues assosciated with subarachnoid hemorrhages is spasming in the vessels of the brain. These can significantly affect how Mom will recover in the long run.
These typically start between 6 and 14 days after the original surgery. Which means that pretty soon we will be in the danger zone.
Keep these in your prayers,
Stephen

Hello Stephen! You are doing a great job keeping us posted with updates on your mom. We have sent the blog page to many of her WOSMS friends. She is in my prayers but most importantly you are my prayers. I experienced this with Harold and your mom was there to support me. All of this is hardest on the caregiver. I kept a spiral and documented everything - who came, who called, his temp and bp. It helped keep me busy and served as a journal for him to read on down the line. Please know that your mom is not going to remember any of this, esp the pain she has experienced. Keep up the good work and take care of yourself.

Hi Stephen,
ReplyDeleteWe want you to know that we are praying for your mom's recovery, & for you & your family as you go through each day with her. I know the waiting & uncertainty is the hardest part of this, but as you well know, the Lord God is holding her in His arms. Continue to lean on Him for all your needs. Thank you for posting this blog. Our information to date has been spotty, so we'll be able to keep up with her (& you) through this.
I'm told that your mom went to visit my mother-in-law (Sally's grandma) in the nursing home last week. We appreciate it very much. If we can help you out in any way, please let us know.
