Her fever still comes and goes. When she drops below 100, she moves more and is responsive. Around 101, she stops moving and rests. We need to figure out whether there is an infection or if her body is just responding to all the tubes inside her.
She has developed a rash. To determine what is causing it, they are taking her off of the antibiotics and dilantin (anti seizure medicine). We need to figure this out so she can get this medicine again.
Currently, there are no spasms in her brain. We need to keep it that way.
She prefers to move her right side. We have been trying to work with her on moving the left side. The doctors believe this could be because the right side of her brain suffered the trauma. The right side of the brain controls the left side.

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that I have not been able to post a comment before today. Henry and I have been hosting a Flying Longhorns trip to Antarctica since Jan. 30th and just got back into town. Please know that we are praying for you all and know that God is in everything. Sending you healing thoughts from one longhorn to another!
Hook'em and get well soon!

Hello there:
ReplyDeleteI just got off the phone with Nina for about a half an hour trying to set up this blog account. Not being a computer whiz I have had problems setting it up. Lets see if it works now. LOL
Stephen, as I told you on the phone a few days ago you are to be comended as to how you are handeling your mom's health. Both Aunt Linda and I are very proud of you. We are confident that any decisions you have to make will be the correct ones in order to help your mom.
Mona, you being a Greek should know how stubborn we can be. Both Linda and I know that you are 100% Greek and that you will fight to servive and pull through this. We will be looking forward to being able and sit with you and chat as to how stubborn you were. People say that I am very stubborn and need to rest but I keep pushing myself. As many times that I have seen you I couldn't keep up with you. Now you take the rest that you deserve and get ready to fire up so we can go do the $.25 dance. That was the first time I have ever seen that and I will never forget it.
Mona you take care and get all the rest you need. We will wait until you are ready for visitors and come see you.
God bless:
Love Linda and Teddy
Mona,
ReplyDeleteTed is right, even though he is in need of a spell-checker. You are always on the go and will come through this test that you have been given with straight A's. Will be coming to see you soon.
Love,
Nina
Mona & Stephen,
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing wrong with Ted's spelling, it is just creative. It is the message that's important and I want you to know that I agree with everything he said. All I know is I won't put anything down without a spell checker(Nina is my spell checker), because of my creative spelling. What the heck is a $0.25 dance? You both hang in there. I am betting on you, I know you'll beat the odds. We're all praying for you both. Love to all. Hook-em Horns
